Caregiving is an act of love, but it’s work, too.
If you’re caring for someone who needs help with daily living activities, such as feeding and bathing, they may be eligible for Empire Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) – a Medicaid plan that makes living at home possible.
Our members choose their own path of care
MLTC members have two options for receiving in-home personal care services, like help with bathing, dressing, feeding, preparing meals, and going to the bathroom.
Choose a personal assistant
Members can choose their own personal assistant who is paid to provide their personal care and home health services. Almost anyone can be a personal assistant, including family members or friends. As a personal assistant, you can earn the income you need to focus on caregiving, and your loved one gets support from a person they trust.
Personal assistants are paid by the program and do not cost the member anything. Assistants in the program can earn up to $19/hour and up to $28/hour for overtime. Exact pay depends on your county, insurance plan, and other individual circumstances.
